The 2025 edition of VINARIUM, the largest international wine competition in Central and Eastern Europe was held in Ploiești, România 22-25 May. 47 judges originating from 20 countries tasted 1346 samples from 22 countries.
- There were 1346 samples registered from 22 countries: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Chile, Czech Republic, Germany, Estonia, Spain, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liban, Macedonia, New Zeeland, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Türkiye, Romania, South Africa, Ukraine.
- 228 producers / importers/ traders/ producers’ representatives have registered their samples
- Still wines, sparkling wines, and spirituous beverages of vitivinicultural origin were registered in the competition
- 39,82% of the total registered samples originate from outside Romania – the organizing country.
- The total number of judges was 47, originating from 20 countries: Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Lituania, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands.

- The judging was carried out by 8 commissions of 5 judges/ commission. Each commission was led by a head of panel.
- The consensual average of each sample was calculated as an arithmetic average of the scores given by all jurors, after eliminating the extreme scores (i.e. the lowest and the highest scores were eliminated).
- There were awarded 417 Medals:
- 25 Great Gold Medals (scores between 93-100) – 5.5% from the total no of medals
- 365 Gold Medals (scores between 89-92.9) – 78.5% from the total no of medals
- 27 Silver Medals (scores between 85-88.9)- 16% from the total no of medals
- Even though the minimum score for the Silver Medal, according to the OIV Regulations, is of 85 points, due to the restriction according to which only 30% of the total number of samples can receive an award, the last score for the Silver Medal was 88,50.
- The 25 Great Gold Medals were won by wineries from Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Republic of Moldova and Romania.
- Special prizes will be awarded by International Organizations VINOFED and FIJEV.
Patronage and Partners
VINARIUM International Wine Contest is organized under the patronage of OIV (the International Organization of Vine and Wine) and VINOFED (the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits competitions). It is the only competition in Romania that holds this status. FIJEV (the International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalist and Writers) is Partner of VINARIUM.
