For the first time, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is opening its selection to alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines. A specific category has been created for the competition and a dedicated panel will convene next May to judge entries objectively. A special trophy, sponsored by M.I.S., will be awarded at the end of the tasting sessions to the highest quality entry. M.I.S. is the first Belgian company to provide a de-alcoholisation service for fermented drinks. M.I.S.offers its services and expertise to all producers who wish to market a de-alcoholised version of their products.

To enter the category, products made from wine must contain no more than 5.5% alcohol by volume.

In creating the new category, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles aims to respond to demand from a number of consumers and analyse market trends in a practical and objective way. Based on the results, consumers looking for alcohol-free or low-alcohol drinks will be provided with a benchmark so that they can choose quality products.

Judging for alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines will be organised with the same rigour as other entries and according to strict Concours Mondial de Bruxelles procedures. Panel members selected for judging the category will receive information about the specific features of wines entered and will judge them objectively and independently.
