The first edition of the TurkishWineChallenge® took place in Istanbul on 15th and 16th October 2021.Turkish Wine Challenge is an international wine competition open to all producers from around the world.

The international jury tasted and scored 284 number of wines. The wines were tasted blind in two sessions. Argentina, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, New Zealand, Spain, the UK, and Turkey were represented with their wines.

There was a total of 14 number of judges, 7 women and 7 men giving a 50:50 gender split. The organization is proud of this balance. The judges came from Austria, Georgia, Germany, Lebanon, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, the UK, the USA and Turkey. They were impressed with the overall high quality of participating wines.

3 Grand Gold, 23 Gold and 83 Silver medals were awarded. Only the top 38% participating wines merited a medal. The following wines were announced as the overall winners in their category at the Gala Dinner on 16th October 2021.

The breakdown per colour is as follows; Red wine: 3 Grand Gold, 19 Gold, 56 Silver. White wine: 4 Gold, 22 Silver. Rosé wine: 1 Gold, 5 Silver.
