Cinque Wine Bar in Athens is a small family run wine bar located in the historical center. The family’s passion for the wine starts back to 2004 after a trip to Friuli in North Italy where, for the first time, they fell in love with the wine.
In 2012, when financial crisis started, they decided to turn their hobby into their job. The first Cinque Wine Bar was born in Lamia, a small city in Central Greece. Currently you can visit Cinque Wine Bar in Athens
in the lively district Psyrri. In the Monastiraki district you can find Cinque Wine Delights. You can discover native Greek varieties through a wine tasting and you can find many wines to choose from.
Nikitas (photo) and Greg Prassas, son and father are both sommeliers, Nikitas is an Oenologist too. They choose the wines for the wine list and create the tastings.
Cinque Wine Club
In this covid-19 situation Cinque’s team efforts is to stay connected with wine lovers all around the world by sending Greek wines, making virtual wine tastings and selecting wines for the Cinque Wine Club. Especially for the wine club they try to discover “hidden gems” from the Greek vineyards to introduce you. Indigenous varieties like Xinomavro or Assyrtiko, orange wines and sparkling wines too. As member of the Cinque Wine Club you will receive an assortment of 6 bottles of delicious Greek wine 4 times a year, so you receive 24 bottles of specially selected Greek wines annually. The price for the 6 bottles is €127,- . And that’s not all: the Cinque family loves giving so every box will always have a surprise gift.
