Flessenpost! Tenuta Argentiera is located in the southern tip of the Bolgheri DOC, on the hills of Donoratico. Tenuta Argentiera, on its 20th year, manages 80 hectares of vineyards within the Bolgheri DOC suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Vermentino.

🍷For this wine the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes were manually harvested and selected. They come from plots that are located between 180 and 200 meters a.s.l. Using the force of gravity, the whole grapes fall into the tanks; the different varieties have been vinified separately. Fermentation and maceration took place in steel tanks for about 25/30 days at a controlled temperature not exceeding 28/30° C. The wine was transferred to partly new 225-liter French oak barriques where malolactic fermentation was completed. Aging was first done in barriques and then in the bottle, before launching the wine in the market.

“The 2018 vintage is an elegant vintage, compared to the more powerful ones; it reminds us of the older 2010” says Leonardo Raspini, agronomist and general manager at Tenuta Argentiera.

😋So let’s see what’s in the glass… The colour is medium purple. On the nose a medium(+) intensity with blueberries, cranberries, Mediterranean spices, and some lorbeer. On the palate dark fruit, blackberries, fresh plum, liquorice and sweet spices. Fine-grained tannins and a long finish. Really pleasant and elegant style.

🍴Pair this wine with red meat (or vegetables!) from the barbecue, veal, game and more.
